Delhi Pollution: Delhi woke up to another day of toxic air on Thursday, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the severe plus category. The overall AQI was recorded as 448 at 6 am with the temperature dropping to 7°C. GRAP Stage IV remained in effect in the national capital amid deteriorating pollution levels.
Visibility was reduced as a layer of fog engulfed the parts of Delhi and adjoining areas like Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram during the morning hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert and said dense fog conditions will prevail in the city for the next two days due to western disturbances. On the worsening weather conditions, Dr Soma Roy from IMD told ANI that a dip in minimum temperature is expected to continue in the capital.
