New Delhi: Ayan Mukerji’s much anticipated movie Brahmastra is all set to hit the theatres on September 9. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the movie is expected to gross a huge at the box office. Now as the advance bookings already began, we have the latest update from the same.

Within 24 hours, the epic has sold approximately 27,000 tickets at the three national chains – PVR, Inox and Cinepolis. The IMAX shows are already in a fast-filling mode.

Therefore, if we go by the advance booking results, Brahmastra will be seeing a great start on the opening day. The initial expectations till yesterday were around 18 to 22 crore. If this momentum continues, the epic saga might witness a huge surprise at the box office.

According to reports, Cinepolis in Patna opened at 12 noon today, and within 5 hours, the property has sold over 350 tickets and the cinema owner is expecting a 100 percent sell out in advance for the film at his property maximum by Monday night.

While the advance booking count remains outstanding for Brahmastra, it will be interesting to see if Ayan Mukerji’s film can surpass Bhool Bhulaiya 2 and 83 in terms of advance ticket sales.

83 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 sold approximately 1.05 lakh and 1.03 lakh tickets at the national chains.

It is to be mentioned that these are just advances on limited shows, that too the 3D version. The full-fledged bookings, including the 2D version, will open up from Monday or Tuesday.

Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra will be released on September 9 in all the four languages.

Brahmastra makers lost Rs 1.50 crore due to Hyderabad launch cancellation

Meanwhile, Brahmastra’s Hyderabad pre-release event got cancelled due to some security reasons. The event was scheduled to be held on September 3. RRR star Jr NTR was about to grace the event as a chief guest. Fans were also excited to b a part of the event.

Now, as per TOI reports, the makers of the film incurred a loss of Rs 1.50 Cr due to the last minute cancellations. Ahead of the release, such a loss have bit shattered the makers.
