An Indian youth, Vaibhav Bedi, has filed a lawsuit against the Axe perfume company, alleging deception and mental distress. Bedi claims that the product, made by HUL, failed to attract women as advertised, leading to his suffering.

After seven years of failed attempts, Vaibhav has chosen to sue the perfume company. This lawsuit is considered one of the most bizarre ever filed.

Billionaire Harsh Goenka, Chairman of the RPG Group, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Vaibhav Bedi is suing HUL for cheating and mental distress after using Axe products for over seven years without success in attracting women. “Where is the Axe effect?” Vaibhav questions, even presenting his used products in court. Is this the most bizarre lawsuit ever?

Social Media Support

Social media users have shown varied reactions to Vaibhav’s decision to sue the perfume company, with many expressing support.

One user wrote, ‘Finally, someone did it! I’ve used it for the past 10 years trying to attract attention, but no one even noticed me. I’ve spent around Rs. 31,200 and now I’m considering seeking five times that amount for the humiliation. Should I ask for more? Ten years.’

Another commented, ‘This lawsuit is valid. Holding companies accountable for false promises is necessary, and this is a prime example.’

A third user added, ‘This could set a precedent for stopping misleading and pretentious advertising!’

It’s worth noting that the government has already passed and implemented a law against misleading advertisements. Under this law, companies that deceive customers with false advertising can face punishment and fines.
