Most people consider food preferences to be personal, but one man ended his relationship with a woman because he felt her tastes were just too strong. After making the mistake of disclosing to a potential boyfriend her preference for “odder” foods, the woman received a text message informing her that she had been dumped. The Reddit user described how she had been talking to a guy for about two months and had told him that she enjoyed adding corn to her Noodles. She had even teased him a little bit to get him to try it. But the picky guy claimed that her disclosure truly disturbed him.

Sharing her experience on Reddit, the woman wrote – “I’ve been talking to a man for the past two months. This was starting to resemble a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship”. She stated that they were planning to start dating shortly. In the meantime, she spoke to him about how she enjoys eating spaghetti—a bizarre blend of noodles and corn during the talk. She also mentioned that she suggested the guy to try this combination. However, she claimed that after hearing this combo, he did not feel well. He went so far as to say that he would feel awful if she ever mixed corn into his noodles.

Further in her post, she added after five minutes, the guy started saying again that her eating style bothered him. He continued by saying that he would not enjoy food at all if it were cooked for him with a lot of work and then tainted by the addition of corn. He said he would puke it out.  This astonished the women. 

Then she said to him, “Don’t worry, I’ll just add corn to my plate when I make spaghetti for us.” He said, “I don’t understand this stupid choice of yours,” in response. Then the girl told him, “I’m working on some stuff. I’ll give you a call later. He texted me to end our relationship rather than to wait for my call, and just because I eat spaghetti with corn.”

The woman’s post shocked Reddit users, asking how someone could end a relationship over such a little issue. Someone commented, “He left you for corn?” It’s possible that he wasn’t worth living with. He left you using corn as an excuse; he had to do this for whatever reason, another person stated. Another person commented, “It’s a good thing he left now because living with him would have forced you to change your preferences.”
