New Delhi: A Linkedin user named Diksha Mishra from Bengaluru posted a picture of an air hostess for Akasa Air wearing sneakers instead of heels.
Akasa Air is the newest airline in India with a comfort policy that allows crew members to wear sneakers, trousers, and jackets. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is the stock market investor for the airlines.
In the post, she mentioned her experience with Akasa Air and how she got impressed with their idea of comfort, “I recently took a flight from Akasa Air and was surprised but really happy to see a well-deserved change. Attached is a picture showing how comfortable the air hostess is in her new uniform. No more killer heels to run the services. Absolute comfort and I am sure it was long pending for these humans. Congratulations Akasa Air on breaking the norms. Good luck with your operations in the aviation industry.”
In reply to her post, the airline commented, “Thank you so much, Diksha! One of our core values is comfort. We believe that providing outstanding service requires a high level of comfort. We look forward to welcoming you on board soon.”
Airline uniform
In July of last year, the airline unveiled its crew uniform. According to the company, the uniform focuses on aesthetics and comfort and reflects Akasa Air’s warm, friendly, and happy personality. Vanilla Moon’s lightweight sneakers were created with the crew members’ mobile lifestyles in mind. The sole is made of recycled rubber and does not contain any plastic. or the crew uniform, which is made from recycled polyester fabric made from pet bottle plastic salvaged from marine waste.
