The universe is full of mystical elements that amaze us and no theory of Science has an argument for them. There are no explanations for such natural wonders but just one word – unbelievable!
One such element is Dalahi Kund whose mystery still remains unsolved. The pond located near Bokaro city, Jharkhand draws thousands of visitors every year on Makar Sankranti who believe that the water of this pond is sacred and fulfills their desires.
They visit this place for a cleansing dip. As per the local residents, the water has healing properties for skin ailments but what is more astonishing is the fact that the water in this pond rises on claps. As you clap, the water will rise and resemble as if boiling. It settles down in the next few moments though.
Another rare property this pond possesses is its ability to adapt to seasons. The water is not just considered divine but also works as per season throughout the year. It remains cool in summer and a little warm during winter.
Geological scientists haven’t come to any conclusion about this mysterious pond after extensive research. Some researchers suggest that due to the low water level in the reservoir, the water reacts to the sound waves caused by clapping. In simpler words, it is clapping that generates vibrations which subsequently causes a rise in the water level. Though merely three claps can’t create that intensive frequency to budge water movement.
Scientists might not have figured out the reason but devotees believe that taking a dip in this water cleanses you, eliminates your hardships, and soothes your skin and if water rises on a few claps, it’s nothing but charismatic.
