Patients Watch Jr NTR While Brain Surgery: Government General Hospital doctors, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, successfully performed a groundbreaking surgical procedure in an awake patient’s brain during her viewing of a Jr NTR movie.

It has been known as an ‘awake craniotomy’ in which the patient is kept awake during this very complex surgical procedure.

This 55-year-old patient, A. Anantalakshmi from A Kothapalli, used to suffer from numbness in her limbs and headaches all the time. She was diagnosed with a tumor on the left side of her brain measuring 3.3 x 2.7 cm. The reason for the surgery at the government hospital for her was she could not pay the bills of the private hospitals.

The Patient Was Busy Watching Adhurs Of Jr NTR

The surgical team engaged her with scenes of Jr NTR’s Adhurs, which were displayed on the day itself.

Despite its complexity, the doctors performed it successfully along with handling the comfort of the patient also.

The viral video of this impressive surgery has been shared extensively on social media.

What Is Awake Craniotomy?

The US-based National Institutes of Health explains that awake craniotomy, or awake brain surgery is a procedure in which the patient remains awake and can converse with the surgical team while their brain is being operated upon.
