Odisha Police Officer Viral Video: The Puri Stampede incident that occurred on Sunday (June 29, 2025) is still making waves. Amidst this, a video of a senior cop giving instructions to the police personnel is going viral on social media platforms. In the clip, he can be heard telling the officials guarding a barricade, ‘If anybody reaches here, break their leg.”
He made these remarks against some Congress workers who carried out a protest near Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s residence. According to reports, they were protesting against the death of 3 people who were killed during the stampede at the Rath Yatra in Puri. To block them, a large police force was deployed outside the Chief Minister’s house.

In the video that went viral, Bhubaneswar ACP Narasingha Bhol walked to the last barricade and pointed a finger towards a barbed wire, saying, “Pakadna nahi hai….Yahan tak koi aaya toh uska pair tod dena. Jo ek pair todega, mere se aake reward lena.” Responding to him, the policemen behind the last barricade said, “Yes, yes, yes.”
After the video went viral, Mr Bhol told NDTV, “There is a place, time, and context in everything. Where was it happening, when was it happening… If you see the video, I told the personnel that ‘we are there to arrest them’,” Mr Bhol said, referring to a spot some distance away from the barricade. “Before reaching the spot where I was standing, there were two barricades. The order was to detain unruly protesters at the first barricade itself. However, if somebody breached the two barricades and went beyond them, then that person has already broken the law. He is part of an unlawful assembly.”
