Watch: Japan PM enjoys Indian street food including Pani Puri, Aam Panna, Lassi

New Delhi: Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida enjoy Indian street food with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Buddha Jayanti Park in Delhi on Monday. He tried ‘Pani Puri’, ‘Lassi’ and ‘Aam Pana’.

PM Modi twitted their pictures while trying Pani Puri and captioned it, “My friend PM @kishida230 enjoyed Indian snacks including Golgappas.”

A video of Kishida eating pain puri with PM Modi has gone viral on social media. It has received over 14.9 million views and over 2.8 million likes. They also enjoyed chai from earthen pots while sitting on a bench in the park.

In another post, PM Modi said, “One of the aspects which connects India and Japan is the teachings of Lord Buddha. PM Kishida and I went to the Buddha Jayanti Park in Delhi. Sharing some glimpses.”

The PM added they have talked about  India-Japan ties in areas like defence, healthcare, technology, and others. We also discussed ways to boost competitiveness in logistics, food processing, MSME, textiles, and other industries.

They also discussed India’s G20 presidency and Japan’s G7 presidency. The Japanese prime minister arrived in Delhi on Monday for a nearly 27-hour visit amid global geopolitical turmoil over the Ukraine conflict and growing concerns about China’s aggressive behaviour in the Indo-Pacific.
