Ghaziabad: A video from a hotel is going viral where hotel staff and bouncers were seen thrashing a family. Hotel staff and bouncers allegedly thrashed people attending the event after the family booked the hotel for Mehandi Ceremonies and requested that the DJ play music until late at night. A viral video showed several people being beaten with belts and sticks in a full-fledged brawl.
According to police, nine employees of a hotel in the Masuri area were arrested, and the owner was summoned, for allegedly molesting, abusing, and attacking a groom and his relatives with sticks during a pre-wedding ceremony at the hotel.
The family had reserved the Grand Iris Hotel in Govindpuri for the mehendi ceremony and insisted on the disc jockey playing past midnight, which allegedly resulted in a scuffle. In a police report, the family claimed that hotel staff sexually assaulted a few female guests, including the groom’s sister, and tore her saree. According to them, at the request of the hotel owner, the staff and bouncers attacked the family with sticks and confined them to the premises for two hours.
The video, which was tweeted by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, also resulted in the filing of a case against 15 to 20 people involved in the brawl.
