Viral Video: Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, currently embroiled in a controversy over his remarks on the show, ‘India’s Got Latent’, appeared before the crime branch in Guwahati, Assam, on Friday. According to reports, he was interrogated for more than four hours by the police. A video of him accompanied by his lawyer went viral on social media. In the clip, he is seen being escorted by a few police officials. However, as they take him, it seems like he has been rushed, pushed, and pulled up the stairs.
While speaking to ANI, Joint Commissioner Ankur Jain said, “Allahbadia arrived at the Crime Branch office around 12.30 pm. The interrogation continued for more than four hours during which he cooperated with the police and answered all that was asked.” Meanwhile, the officer noted that the YouTuber has agreed to cooperate with them in the future as well. He has assured that he will visit Guwahati whenever he is called by the police, he added.

The way Ranveer was taken upstairs in the viral video has, however, sparked a debate on social media. A user wrote, “Bro is getting treated as if he has done some crime.” Another user asked, ‘Why is he being rushed?” A third user wrote, “He is being treated like a terrorist,” while a fourth user remarked, “What do you think of Ranveer Allahabadia? Does he deserve a canning punishment?”
A section of netizens seemed unhappy and expressed their take on the incident as well. A user wrote, ‘What do you think of Ranveer Allahabadia? Does he deserve a canning punishment?” Another said, “Why is he being held like that? I really feel sad for him. It was just a statement that also copied and we all know that he needs our support, but ain’t getting any. sad that criminals are treated so highly and a person who casually said a bad statement is being held guilty as if he committed a huge crime.” A third user wrote, “Sad to see a human being treated like a criminal for a joke! Crazy.”
