The viral video has drawn sharp criticism from various political parties, despite Anwar’s explanation that he was unwell at the time. During the inspection, the 74-year-old MP initially travelled on a tractor, but after reaching a waterlogged stretch, he was carried by villagers. A now-viral clip shows locals lifting and carrying Anwar through the flooded area.

Speaking to NDTV, Yadav clarified that Anwar had been feeling dizzy due to the extreme heat, and was visibly unwell during the visit. He added that the truck Anwar was traveling in got stuck in debris brought in by heavy rains, forcing the villagers to carry him further.

Polls in Bihar are scheduled to take place later this year, likely in October or November, though the Election Commission of India has yet to announce the official dates.
