An Indian man who recently visited Indonesia’s capital city Jakarta, shared a video highlighting the unusual food habits in the country. In the viral video, Instagrammer Akash Chaudhary shows a street shop selling dishes prepared from snakes.
The shop owner was spotted pulling out live snakes from a crate full of the reptiles to make snake-meat based dishes. A banner was also seen hanging on the stall with a list of cobra-meat dishes such as ‘Cobra Pakode’, cobra blood, snake meat noodles, etc. The video posted in July, 2024 has garnered over 40 million views and over 1 million likes and shares. It carried the caption, “Cobra 🐍 के पकौड़े खाते है यहाँ (They eat Cobra Pakoras here)”

However, the now-viral video has left the netizens in shock with many Indian viewers feeling uneasy and culturally shocked and disgusted. A user commented, “Kamzor dil tha fir bhi dekh li.”
Another user hilariously replied, ‘Meri ex bhi hogi uske andar dekhlo zara?” Meanwhile, a third commented, “And I am watching this on nagpanchmi.”
A fourth remarked, “Welcome to Cobra virus.” A fifth compared his friends to the snake, saying, “M apne dosto ko kyu yaad kr rha hun.” Another said, “Snake As Snack.”
