A video has went viral on social media, where the reptile can be seen strolling on the road. The crocodile had escaped from the lake near the Padmavati Temple, Lake Site. Locals were taken aback upon seeing the crocodile roaming on the road. They alerted the Forest Department officials, who swiftly carried further action, ensuring the safety of the public. The incident occurred between 7-8 pm on Sunday. Photos and videos of the crocodile crawling on the road have been widely circulated on social media platforms.
Crocodile Strolls On Road, Video Goes Viral
The video has been shared on X by a user named, Raj Mahi. In the caption, he mentioned how the incident unfolded. He wrote, “A startling incident unfolded on the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Powai campus in Mumbai, as a crocodile was spotted roaming on the road. The reptile had escaped from the lake near the Padmavati Temple, Lake Site. A chilling video captured the crocodile’s stroll on the road, sparking widespread fear among locals. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, between 7-8 pm, prompting citizens to promptly alert Forest Department officials.”
The user has also raised concern about wildlife safety and urban planning, highlighting the frequency of such incidents.
He added, “Municipal authorities and Forest Department officials swiftly responded to the situation, ensuring public safety. Photos and videos of the incident are now viral on social media. Notably, this is not the first time a crocodile has been spotted on the roads in the area. There have been multiple instances in the past where crocodiles have wandered out of the Powai lake and onto the roads, raising concerns about wildlife safety and urban planning.”
