Norma Basurto, the pilot’s girlfriend, had no idea what was about to happen as she sat in the first-class cabin. Then, the captain spoke over the loudspeaker, sharing a heartfelt message and calling Norma his “co-pilot in love and life.”

The Daily Mail reports that pilot said in Spanish over the loudspeaker that “Today, I boarded that same person who has transformed my life, my co-pilot of love and life, Norma Basurto. From the day I met you, I knew I wanted to fly by your side in every adventure, in every storm and clear sky that life presents to us,”
He further said that “Honey, I knew you were special from the day I met you, but over time I realised that you are everything I dreamed of. You are my refuge, my joy and the reason why I want to be better every day. You have been my companion in great challenges and wonderful moments,”
The pilot then asked Norma to stand up and told her that he had been watching her take her seat through the plane’s cameras. Excitement grew among the passengers as he walked out of the cockpit and went up to her.
Norma was so emotional that she started crying as she happily said “yes.” The couple hugged and shared a kiss, while the passengers cheered loudly.
