New Delhi: A man from the US lost 165 kg in four years after being told by doctors that he was a “ticking time bomb” and could not live long. Early in life, he weighed 300 kg and underwent drastic weight loss to live a longer life.

Nicholas Craft started his weight loss journey in 2019 and lost approximately 18 kg in the first month while dieting. According to the media, Craft said that he has been struggling with his weight since childhood.

Craft mentioned that he used to avoid family functions and travel due to embarrassment, “Depression lead me to overeat, and I couldn’t get around as I should.”

According to him, his condition caused body aches, knee pain, and shortness of breath. He couldn’t even ‘get into regular vehicles.’

He added, “The doctor told me if I don’t do something about my weight issue, I was going to end up dying between three to five years.”

Craft further said it was his grandmother who motivated him to work on his weight because she wanted to see him live long. “I promised her I would lose weight, so I could see her more.” But unfortunately, she died before he brought his weight down.
