New Delhi: A 95-year-old woman who won three gold medals at the World Master Athletics Indoor Championships. The old lady was praised by Union Minister for Sports Anurag Thakur for tweeting about her achievement.
Bhagwani Devi Dagar, a 95-year-old woman, has once again demonstrated that age is just a number. The nonagenarian won three medals at the 9th World Athletics Indoor Championship 2023 in Torun, Poland. She won gold medals in the 60-meter dash, shotput, and discus throw. She posted a video of herself running at the event while carrying the tricolour on her back and proudly wearing the gold medals.

Union Minister for Sports tweeted the post with the caption, “What an inspiration! Our #NaariShakti never fails to make us proud. Kudos to 95 years old Bhagwani Devi ji on winning 3 gold medals in the 9th World Master Athletics Indoor Championships. Your champion mentality is a true testament to Fit India.”
While sharing her video on Instagram of herself she wrote, “One lamp does not lose anything by lighting another lamp. Meet my friend who often helps me to improve my game. That’s the beauty of the game.”
She won gold in the 100m sprint at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Tampere last year, finishing in 24.74 seconds. She had also won a bronze medal in the shot put.
