Washington: World’s richest man Elon Musk recently tweeted that comedian Chris Rock has invited him to open one of his shows, however to his surprise the Twitter community responded reminding him of actor Will Smith’s slap reference from Oscars.

“[Chris Rock] invited me to open for one of his shows. Thanks Chris! I will try not to flounder too much,” Musk said in a reply, tagging Rock.

In reply to Musk’s tweet, users quickly pointed out the infamous slap episode at this year’s Oscars’ ceremony, when Smith walked upto the stage at slap Chris for making fun of his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s hair loss struggle.

“I hope Will Smith isn’t in the audience,” read one comment.

Another user said: “Elon opening for Chris rock? That show would slap.”

A user also tweeted “no slapping.”

Following the incident, Smith was in April barred from attending the Oscars ceremony for the next 10 years.

The actor, on times, has publicly apologised to Rock, saying his behaviour at the Oscars was “shocking, painful and inexcusable”. In one of the videos, Smith said: “Chris, I apologize to you. My behaviour was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”
