A Calgary-based Canadian art student has discovered a simple method for avoiding costly Vancouver rent. Twice a week, he takes a flight from Calgary to Vancouver. The approximate cost of each round-trip airfare is $150, which equates to a monthly expenditure of nearly $1200 (about Rs 1 lakh). On the internet, the video of his chat with News Vancouver, a local news channel, is becoming extremely popular.
The student said in the video that his monthly rent expenses in Vancouver would come to almost $25,000. Nevertheless, he only pays $150 for round-trip airfare when he chooses to fly twice a week, taking an hour-long flight from Calgary to Vancouver. In the video, the student stated, "This is half the average rent for a one-bedroom in the city."
