Tom Cruise attended the Paris Olympics 2024 closing ceremony and did not disappoint. Fans were aware of Cruise’s reputation for doing dangerous movie stunts himself, so Cruise carried that same kind of excitement into the event. He leaped off the roof of the Stade de France—one of the largest stadiums—into the stage. The audience cheered wildly for the stunt.
Well, that rooftop jump was only the first part of Cruise’s act at the closing ceremony. After he landed on the stage, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass greeted him. She first took the Olympics baton from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. Then Cruise took the baton and jumped onto his motorcycle to drive out of the stadium. The stunt gave the symbolic handover of the Olympics from Paris to Los Angeles.
According to Variety, the actor rode his motorcycle through the streets of Paris and then into a plane to the song ‘By The Way’ by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

A pre-recorded video then showed Cruise parachuting from a plane and landing near the Hollywood sign. He placed the five Olympic rings on the sign after touching down to celebrate the upcoming Olympic host city.
