1522: Maharana of Mewar Udai Singh II was born
Udai Singh II was the Maharana of Mewar and the founder of the city of Udaipur in the present-day Rajasthan state of India. He was the 12th ruler of the Kingdom of Mewar. He was the fourth son of Rana Sanga and Rani Karnavati, a princess of Bundi.
1932: Indian film actress Shashikala was born
Shashikala Saigal better known by her first name, was an Indian film and television actress, who played supporting roles in hundreds of Bollywood films beginning in the 1940s.
1965: Indian film director Vishal Bhardwaj birthday
Vishal Bhardwaj is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer, music composer and playback singer. He is known for his work in Hindi cinema, and is the recipient of seven National Film Awards in four categories. Bhardwaj made his debut as a music composer with the children’s film Abhay (The Fearless) (1995), and received wider recognition with his compositions in Gulzar’s Maachis (1996). He received the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent for the latter.
1967: Indian actor Arbaaz Khan was born
Arbaaz Khan is an Indian actor, film director and film producer who predominantly works in Hindi language films. He has also acted in a few Urdu, Telugu and Malayalam language films as well as television series. Since making his debut in 1996, he has acted in many leading and supporting roles. He ventured into film production in Bollywood film industry, with Arbaaz Khan Productions, launched with Dabangg (2010), in which he starred as the younger brother of his real-life brother Salman Khan.
