Viral TikTok Trend: A shocking case recently came to light after a woman reportedly broke her foot while trying the viral #droppingthingsonmyfoot TikTok trend. According to reports, the woman, identified as 40-year-old Klaire Cave, was enjoying vacation in Grange-over-Sands on March 1. Cave was there to celebrate her cousin Gemma Stephens’s birthday when she decided to take part in the popular social media trend.
The two initially spend the day at a few bars and later return to their hotel. However, what was meant to be a fun challenge soon turned into an accident due to replicating trend. While speaking to Kennedy News, Cave said, “Honestly, I don’t even know what I was thinking on my mind. It may be because I’d watched so many TikTok videos. I thought to give that one a try as well.”
She further stated, “I have previously tried a few dance trends and drinking ones. However, this one was different from others, and I thought to give it a shot.” Surprisingly, she said that it didn’t really hurt much at that time. She noted that when you stub your toe and hold it, you get over it. However, things went wrong the next morning when she attempted to walk.
Reports revealed that two days later, on March 3, she went to Sunderland General Hospital, where she got an X-ray done. The reports showed that her 4th metatarsal bone was broken. Additionally, Cave suffered a severe ligament injury. “The pain was unbelievable,” Cave added.

#droppingthingsonmyfoot is one of the popular TikTok trends where people drop heavy objects on their feet from the height of their waist. They then record their videos and rate the pain. Cave started by dropping a spoon on her foot first and rated the pain as 1/10. She next dropped a door stop, which she rated 2/10 on the pain scale. She later dropped the hotel’s standing fan on her foot and then a suitcase. She rated the former an 8/10 and the latter as 10/10.
Cave said that she felt embarrassed to inform the doctors that she tried the viral TikTok trend and dropped heavy items on her foot. “I felt like it was the suitcase or the fan that broke my foot. But then, the door stopper did feel like it hit a bone,” Cave emphasized. She even noted that her cousin was ‘more sensible’ as she refused to take part in the TikTok Challenge.
Cave said that she has learned the lesson and will not be trying any more challenges ever. According to reports, TikTok has removed the trend videos for breaching community guidelines. Meanwhile, the company also claims that they have blocked hashtags related to the challenge.
