SHOCKING! Japan-Bound Flight Plays Adult Movie, Passengers Left Uncomfortable With No Option To Switch

'Daddio' is being played to the entire cabin. It then became clear that it was not going to be appropriate for the passengers.

Qantas flight QF59 from Sydney to Haneda was in for the shock of their lives when the plane’s entertainment system accidentally started ‘Daddio’ (2023), a movie classified R-rated and full of explicit, graphic nudity with sexual content. It left many traveling passengers sleep-deprived, among whom were families traveling with children, who were not too pleased to view the adult content.

Technical Glitch Led To Unwanted Preview

The whole trouble started when the in-flight entertainment system could not be used, and consequently, passengers could not select movies of their own choice. Instead of viewing a family movie, everyone on that flight would have to watch ‘Daddio’. Eyewitnesses also report that there are explicit scenes in the movie, making it very awkward for people on board.

One passenger even wrote about his experience on Reddit, sharing an anecdote where he said, “It was impossible to pause, dim, or turn it off. It was super uncomfortable for everyone, especially with families and kids on board.” Many felt that the movie was wholly inappropriate to be seen in such a setting.

The Crew Attempt To Salvage The Situation

The crew then approached the situation by asking the passengers what movie they wanted to see. Unfortunately, this led to ‘Daddio’ being played to the entire cabin. It then became clear that it was not going to be appropriate for the passengers and the crew tried to mend screens so that those who could opt out of the graphic content could continue watching. This was impossible and it took close to an hour to switch the movie to a better title.

At least for one of the passengers, the situation was “extremely inappropriate”, but it did point out just how hard the scene could be for families to cope with. Parents were said to be left stunned, and it was something that all of this was coming forth for the airline crew to face while working hard to overcome this difficulty – the switching of the movie to an appropriate one.

Qantas Issues Apology And Reviews Policies

This was followed by Qantas’ release, where the airline publicly apologized via a spokesperson, stating that the film “was clearly not suitable to play for the whole flight”. Appropriate regrets were sent regarding the distress caused to passengers on board and promised to review how the movie selection could be made.

We truly apologize to the customers for this experience,” the official said while adding that an airline is also concerned with keeping passengers comfortable and safe. “This airline traditionally plays family-friendly movies if individual ones are not available for showing.”

Investigation Under Way To Prevent Future Issues

Qantas is currently investigating what happened to ensure it never happens again. A question mark hovers over all such incidents involving a family’s environment, where protocols of in-flight entertainment come under scrutiny.
