In their tournament opener, Netravalkar shone by claiming two wickets and giving away 18 runs in his four overs as the US triumphed over Babar Azam’s Pakistan. Originally posted on his Instagram page in April, the video features Netravalkar playing the ukulele and singing the devotional song in perfect harmony. Celebrating the cricketer’s role in the USA’s victory over Pakistan, an X user shared the video and wrote, “This is Saurabh Netravalkar, who led the USA to victory against Pakistan in a super over.”
Meanwhile, the original Instagram post includes a caption where Netravalkar explains how he finds “positivity and bliss” in the song. In the video, he is sitting in front of the camera dressed casually and holding a musical instrument. Born in Mumbai, Saurabh Netravalkar played for the India U19 team before moving to the US in 2015. However, his passion for cricket continued, leading him to join the US national team. Alongside his cricketing career, he is employed as the Principal Member of the Technical Staff at Oracle, balancing his time between coding and playing cricket.
In his latest performance, the left-arm fast-medium pacer helped the USA advance by taking the wickets of Mohammad Rizwan in the first over and Iftikhar Ahmed in the 18th over.
