Amazon Employee Reveals Shocking Work Ethic And Salary
“I joined Amazon 1.5 years ago after being laid off by Google, with the intention of doing ‘nothing,’ collecting free money, and eventually getting placed on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP),” the employee wrote on Blind, a forum for verified professionals to discuss work-related topics. He added that during his time at Amazon, he has only resolved seven support tickets and created one automated dashboard, which he claimed took three months but was actually built in just three days using the AI chatbot ChatGPT.
The employee also mentioned that he spends most of his 8-hour workday attending meetings.

Users Criticize Employee’s Work Ethic And Impact On Others
“These people are ruining things for those who genuinely want to work and earn an honest living,” one user wrote. Another commented, “This person is harming themselves more than their employer. Is there anything worse than wasting your limited time in life by pretending to be busy? Experience comes from doing, not just from time. That’s why some engineers with one year of work experience have the equivalent of 10 years of real expertise. The opposite is also true.”
A third user asked, “What? How is that possible? Why would anyone choose such a sad, boring path? What do they do all day? No goals?”
Another user shared a different perspective, saying, “People who tie their self-esteem and purpose to their corporate job are mistaken. Someone working 2 hours a day, getting paid for 8, and having the rest of the time for their personal life, family, and hobbies is actually winning at life.”
