New Delhi: Every year, Raksha Bandhan is celebrated to mark the special bond between siblings. Also known as Rakhi, on this day sisters tie a sacred thread on their brother’s wrist; an act that symbolises love and protection.
When is Raksha Bandhan in the year 2022?
This year’s festival date has caused considerable consternation. While some believe Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11, others believe it will be celebrated on Friday, August 12. So we decided to assist you by clearing up the confusion.
Sawan Purnima, or Sawan full moon, falls on August 11 this year. According to Drik Panchang, the Purnima tithi will begin at 10:38 a.m. on August 11 and end at 07:05 a.m. on August 12, 2022. However, Bhadra coincides with the full moon and will last for the first half of Purnima Tithi.
