Man Scammed Her Becoming A Police Officer
Then, the scammer tricked Dr. Esther into a video call, pretending to be a police officer. They showed what looked like the Mumbai Police logo to make it seem real. The scammer made up stories about fake bank accounts in Dr. Esther’s name, scaring her.
Feeling pressured, Dr. Esther was forced to check the supposed accounts as told by the fake police officer.
The police asked the woman to pay Rs 6.8 lakh. They said they would return the money within an hour to verify the payment. Additionally, they demanded some extra money. So, in total, they wanted Rs 7.33 lakh from the doctor.
The woman waited for an hour as told, but she didn’t get her money back. That’s when she understood she had been tricked into a cyber fraud, losing Rs 7.33 lakh.
