New Delhi: A cross-border gift from a Pakistani rubab player is capturing people’s hearts online as India celebrates its 76th Independence Day.
Pakistani rabab player Siyal Khan uploaded a video of him performing the national anthem of India. Rubab is a string instrument resembling the lute. It is quite a liked instrument and is played by people of India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
In the video, Siyal Khan performs the “Jana Gana Mana” on his rubab against a mesmerizing background of peaceful mountains and wilderness.
Siyal Khan posted the video on Twitter. He wrote, “Here’s a gift for my viewers across the border.”
He also wrote, “Happy #IndependenceDay India. I tried the National Anthem of India as a token of friendship and goodwill for Peace, tolerance and good relations between us. #IndependenceDay2022“
