While Pakistan proudly launched its first locally-built Electro-Optical (EO-1) satellite and celebrated its new milestone on Friday (January 17, 2025), the achievement soon became a subject of fun on social media. Netizens started trolling the satellite for its resemblance to a ‘water tank’.
In an X post, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif shared the image of the satellite, saying, “Soaring higher and higher! Proud moment for the nation as 🇵🇰 proudly launches its first indigenous Electro-Optical (EO-1) satellite from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, China.”
Quickly after his post, some users started joking about the satellite’s look and sharing images of a ‘water tank’ in the comment section.
