In the bustling streets of Gurugram, a powerful moment of love and resilience has caught the attention of the internet. A Swiggy delivery agent, identified as Mr. Pankaj, was seen carrying his two-year-old daughter, Tun Tun, on his delivery rounds — not out of choice, but out of necessity.
A Heartfelt Encounter
The moment came to light when Mayank Agarwal, a Gurugram-based CEO, shared the emotional encounter on LinkedIn. After ordering food, Mayank called the delivery partner and heard a child’s voice in the background. Curious, he stepped down from his home to meet him, and what he witnessed left him deeply moved.
On his bike was a toddler, seated quietly in front of her father. When asked why the child was with him, Pankaj replied simply, “There’s no one at home. Her older brother goes to school in the evening, and I need to look after her until he returns.”

Tragically, Pankaj lost his wife during childbirth. Since then, he’s been single-handedly raising his children. With no access to childcare or family support, he has no other choice but to bring little Tun Tun with him on delivery shifts.
Despite the weight of his situation, Pankaj remains composed. “Some customers have told me to stay home if I can’t manage. But what else can I do?” he says, with a quiet smile that hides countless struggles.
A Wake Up Call For Compassion
His story has touched a chord with thousands online, sparking conversations about compassion, parenting, and the unseen battles faced by gig workers.
Mayank’s post also included a heartfelt plea: “Before anyone raises safety concerns, please know he’s doing this out of compulsion, not neglect. I hope Swiggy or someone steps in to support him.”
In a world that often moves too fast to notice everyday heroes, Pankaj’s story stands as a reminder of the unbreakable bond between a father and child, and of the quiet strength it takes to keep going, even when life gets unbearably hard.
