Starting in November 2020, monoliths began mysteriously appearing around the world, and no one noticed who was responsible, according to the report.

The first was found in a remote area of Utah near Moab on November 18 and attracted worldwide attention for days until the second appeared in Romania less than 10 days later. Soon after, one appeared in California.

The monoliths finally arrived in downtown Las Vegas, and one was erected in the middle of the Fremont Street Experience in December 2020.

Between November 18 and December 8, a total of 23 documented monoliths were found worldwide, and a comprehensive list is available on Google Docs.

However, the monolithic phenomenon disappeared as quickly as it began.

As of Monday evening, no further information was available about the origin of the monolith found near Gass Peak.

As people try to solve the mystery online, the Las Vegas Police Department shared some safety tips for exploring the desert: Tell someone about your hiking or climbing plans, check the weather forecast, and bring enough water, food, a first aid kit, and a flashlight, source and a fully charged phone.
