Recently, a Mumbai resident who placed an order on Flipkart six years ago received a surprising call from the e-commerce platform. Ahsan Kharbai had ordered a pair of Sparx slippers in May 2018 but never received them. After an extended period, Flipkart’s customer support contacted him, which left him amused.
He recounted his unusual encounter on X by sharing a screenshot of his order history. On May 16, 2018, he had placed an order for Sparx Slippers priced at ₹485. As per the order information, the slippers were dispatched on May 19, with an expected delivery date of May 20.
Nevertheless, the order status still indicates that the slippers were not delivered. Mr. Kharbai mentioned that the slippers never arrived, and the app consistently displayed them as ‘arriving today.’ This status persists unchanged to this day.
‘After 6 years, @Flipkart contacted me regarding this order to inquire about the issue,’ he wrote on X.

Mr. Kharbai clarified that the order was a cash-on-delivery transaction, which is why he did not pursue the matter further. He mentioned there was no option available on the app to cancel the order. Additionally, he wanted to close the order because it appeared as the first item in his Flipkart order section.

He explained that he had clicked on the order the day before while reviewing his list of orders, which likely prompted Flipkart to contact him the following day.
The customer service representative asked him if the logistics team had contacted him, and then apologized for the inconvenience, expressing regret with, ‘We sincerely apologize for this, sir.’
