Ludhiana: A social media influencer named Jasneet Kaur was arrested for blackmailing and extorting money from her followers. Ludhiana’s Model Town police station on April 1 seized her BMW and phone.
Jasneet Kaur is a social media influencer with 2 lakh followers from Mohali. She was arrested after a complaint was filed by one of her followers for blackmailing and extorting money from him. Jasneet Kaur utilised her social media platforms to pose semi-naked images of herself to lure wealthy guys. She allegedly communicates with her target on Instagram and tapes them to subsequently demand money.

Jasneet Kaur has many accounts on various social media platforms, including Telegram and Snapchat. In September 2022, Jasneet Kaur demanded Rs 2 crore in extortion from Gurbir by threatening to reveal their conversations.
It has been revealed that she used to threaten her targets with the help of gangsters and was arrested for the same in 2008 as well.
According to Jasroop Kaur Batth, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana (West), the Ludhiana Police has also arrested Jasneet Kaur’s aide, Lucky Sandhu, a youth Congress leader. According to police, Lucky Sandhu used to make threatening phone calls to Jasneet Kaur’s likely targets. The accused has been charged under sections 384 (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
