A video showing a woman confronting and physically overpowering an auto driver in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district has gone viral, sparking conflicting claims from both parties. The woman, identified as Priyanshi Pandey, has accused the auto driver of using an “obscene word” against her, while the driver, Vimlesh Kumar Shukla, alleges that she attacked him after refusing to pay the fare.
The woman also recorded a video in which she clarified the incident and revealed that she has been receiving threat calls.
The video, which was shared from Priyanshi Pandey’s personal social media account, shows her grabbing the auto driver by the collar and pulling him out of the autorickshaw while he struggles to break free. The clip has garnered widespread attention.

Following the video’s viral spread, the auto driver filed a police complaint, claiming that after dropping Priyanshi and her sister off, he asked for the fare, but they refused to pay, stating they were students. He further alleged that when he insisted on the fare, one of the women grabbed his collar and handed her phone to her sister to record the incident. “When I dropped them off and asked for fare, they refused saying they were students. When I kept demanding the fare, one of them got hold of my collar and gave her mobile to her sister and asked her to record it. I then said I don’t want to pay. I didn’t even touch them,” the auto driver said in his complaint, also claiming to have suffered chest injuries.
However, Priyanshi Pandey gave a different account of the incident after the auto driver used an obscene word against her. “That’s why I thrashed him. Since then, I have been getting threat calls, after which I uploaded the video from my personal ID,” she stated. The police have filed complaints from both sides and are investigating the matter further.
