Turkey: A video of an unidentified man from the Turkey-Syria earthquake is going viral on social media. The man is seen in shock and holding a cigarette while being dragged out. The man is seen talking and making gestures with his cigarette in the trending video. As the rescuers pull him out and help him lie down on a hospital stretcher, he appears to take a drag.

The video was captioned, “He was pulled out of the rubble in Adiyaman with a cigarette in his mouth; hope lives on.”

Turkey was hit by two consecutive earthquake

The Pazarcik section of the Kahramanmaras province of Turkey was hit by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake. A 7.5-magnitude earthquake afterwards hit Elbistan neighborhood of Kahramanmaras. Turkey’s Goksun was hit by the third earthquake of 6.0 magnitude. The death toll from the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria has risen to 24,0000 as rescuers continue to extricate people from the rubble.

The earthquake which left up to 5.3 million people homeless in Syria alone, the UN warned that at least 8.7 lakh people in both countries required food immediately. Over 12,000 structures were either completely demolished or severely damaged, according to Turkish officials.

India started “Operation Dost” to provide aid to Turkey and Syria in the wake of the terrible earthquakes.
