A 26-year-old man named Josh Williams was reportedly fired from his job for wasting hours searching for stupid things like ‘Turkey teeth’ and ‘Simon Cowell’s botched Botox’ on his work computer. According to Mirror reports, the man who worked as a Customer Service Administrator was laid off for spending a lot of the company’s time searching for personal stuff and taking too many sick days.
What Went Wrong?
Williams was fired after just three months into his job for googling terms like Turkey teeth and Simon Cowell’s botched Botox. He explained that he had become frustrated at the time because he didn’t have enough work, so he conducted these searches on his company computer.
“I felt really rubbish. I had blown all my savings on a holiday and getting my teeth done, and now I’d returned to no job,” Williams confessed.

TikTok Backlash
Williams said he created a TikTok video explaining his termination. After it went viral, Josh was turned down from three potential jobs. He was told by the interviewers that his values did not align with theirs. “That was a pretty crushing blow,” he said.
Some people criticized Williams for being too old for committing such mistakes, others suggested he could’ve used his phone, not the work computer.
He revealed being embarrassed and ashamed due to all the backlash.
Financial Struggles And Career Changes
Although the video earned him about £450 (Rs 50,000), Williams regrets not deleting it as it covered some of his rent. “I wanted to delete it after two days but kept it up for the money,” he said.
Currently, serving as a supply chain coordinator in the food industry, he is reportedly not happy with his new job. At present, he has to shift careers because he did not want to get noticed in future interviews because of his viral post. “I had to switch careers because I did not want my face to be seen,” he said.
