Louis Vuitton bag, smaller than a grain of salt sold for about Rs 51 Lakh
New Delhi: The neon green bag, having the Louis Vuitton monogram on the handbag measuring just 657x222x700μm, which is reportedly “smaller than a grain of rice and narrow enough to pass through the eye of a needle” was sold on Wednesday for $63,000 (Rs 51.5 lakh) at an auction in New York. MSCHF, a New York-based art collective, which made it to the global news had auctioned off a minuscule bag for Rs 51 Lakh. The New York-based art gallery, MSCHF, in the past too has created such freakish and bizarre creations. The news startled the whole internet right afterwards it was unveiled earlier this month. “As a once-functional object like a handbag becomes smaller and smaller its object status becomes steadily more abstracted until it is purely a brand signifier,” MSCHF stated while it described the microscopic handbag.

How did it even happen?

The ridiculously mini bag came into existence with the help of a technology called two-photon polymerisation, which is used to 3D-print very small plastic parts. MSCHF, earlier in 2021 gained immense media attention after it collaborated with rapper LiL Nas X for "Satan Shoes", the limited-edition sneakers, which were altered by Nike Air Max 97s, carried satanic imagery and had a drop of human blood. Besides creating headlines, it received legal action from Nike itself.
