Getting scolded or beaten by teachers has been a common norm in Indian society. The most disciplined teachers were considered to be the most strict. There are a dozen jokes about Mathematics or Sports teachers giving stringent punishment to students. But there are times when teachers do cross boundaries and beat students in an irreparable manner. One such incident happened in the Kota district of Rajasthan where a teacher slapped students, one of whom got a deep cut on his cheek.

Students asked to lift a ladder

As per the reports, the school teacher asked a few students in 8th grade to lift an iron ladder and place it somewhere. Because the ladder was quite heavy, the students failed to carry it due to which they were called upon by the teacher and badly beaten.

A student named Vinay Rathore who was among the students who were beaten, got a deep cut on his cheek after being slapped. The cut occurred due to a kada (metallic thick bangle) worn by the teacher. The kada made a cut on the student’s face when the teacher slapped him and he started bleeding profusely.

Barbarism in Kota schools?

When Vinay’s father Manoj was informed about the incident, he rushed to his ward’s school and after realizing his injury, instantly took him to the hospital where the doctor put four stitches in the wound.

While the wound will take its due course of time to heal, Manoj took his son to the nearby police station and lodged a complaint against the teacher. On this matter, a police officer named Raghuvir Singh said that a complaint has been filed and further investigation is underway. The family and neighbours have expressed outrage over the issue that took place in Mahatma Gandhi Rajkiya Vidyalaya, an English medium school.

In another incident that took place in Bihar, students of 10th grade reportedly assaulted their school teacher after being scolded by him. They have accused him of using abusive words while scolding one of the students. The video is doing rounds on social media and getting strong reactions from the netizens.
