Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri recently shared an insightful video outlining crucial strategies to help users maximize engagement on the popular social media platform. In his post, Mr. Mosseri provided key insights into understanding and improving content performance on Instagram. He emphasized the importance of monitoring engagement beyond the initial days after posting and suggested interacting with comments for up to a week to boost long-term engagement.

‘Keep an eye on your insights for a few days after you post, not just for the first few hours. Because of how recommendations work on Instagram, your content can continue to reach new people for a few weeks after posting,’ wrote Mr. Mosseri while sharing the clip.

In the video, the Instagram chief advised people to monitor their posts for at least two weeks. He also recommended engaging with comments during the first week to boost viewership.

Additionally, Mr. Mosseri noted that some posts people receive come from accounts they follow, referred to as ‘recommendations,’ which are based on individual preferences.

Mr. Mosseri posted the video just a day ago, and it has already garnered over 20,000 views. In the comments, one user remarked, ‘Many people delete their content if it doesn’t perform well within the first 2-3 days.’

‘I completely agree with this for once. I’ve seen it happening with several accounts that I manage,’ said another.

‘The algorithm is a mystery that no one understands. When a post gains reach, it feels more like luck than strategy. Suddenly, the reach increases, and then, without reason, it drops again. You’ve made it too complicated,’ expressed a third user.

‘I believe that if platforms start having these conversations with their creators, it will benefit everyone! Thank you for this, it’s very helpful!’ commented a fourth Instagram user.
