Kash Patel, an Indian-American and supporter of President Donald Trump, is the new FBI director following a 51-49 vote in the Senate on Friday.
To congratulate Patel on his new position, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared a dance video of Bajirao Mastani’s popular song “Malhari,” featuring Ranveer Singh.
In a funny twist, the clip was edited to show Patel’s face pasted onto Singh’s. Scavino captioned the post, “Congratulations to the new FBI Director Kash Patel.”

Patel’s confirmation was welcomed at the White House as a very important step towards accomplishing President Trump’s agenda of restoring integrity and maintaining the rule of law. They further stressed that the FBI would redirect its attention towards its core mission of executing justice in an impartial manner.
The White House wrote on X, “@FBIDirectorKash Patel’s confirmation as FBI Director is a crucial step in executing President Trump’s agenda to restore integrity and uphold the rule of law.”
“I am honored to be confirmed as the ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” said Kash Patel on X adding, “My mission as Director is clear: let good cops be cops—and rebuild trust in the FBI.”
According to NBC News, while the nomination faced some disapproval from Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, Patel received support from most of the Republican Party, amongst whom was Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who had been critical of other Trump nominees.
