As a brutal heatwave cripples several parts of India, a resident of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, sought relief by installing a makeshift shower on his scooter. His ‘jugaad’ went viral on social media after content creator ‘Fun with Singh’ recorded him on the road. The general sentiment on X about the video circulating online is, “India is not for beginners.”
To pull off this kind of ‘jugaad,’ the man placed a plastic water dispenser on the scooter’s floorboard and attached a shower to it. This allowed him to enjoy a ‘mini shower’ amid the scorching heat during his ride.

Many parts of India are experiencing one of the worst heatwaves ever, with temperatures sharply rising and breaking records in several states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “red” alert, the highest level, forecasting temperatures to reach 45 degrees Celsius.
However, the weather body said the heatwave’s intensity would decrease after Tuesday.
To combat the severe heat wave, officials emphasized the importance of staying hydrated, avoiding direct sunlight, and monitoring for heat-related illnesses. They encouraged residents to stay indoors during the hottest parts of the afternoon and to be vigilant for symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke, especially among vulnerable groups like children and the elderly.
