In response to recent speculation over the network’s future, Cartoon Network issued a straight statement. A representative clarified that neither the network nor its studio are shutting down.
“There is no truth to the rumours that Cartoon Network or its studio are closing down,” the official clarified. “Our recent greenlight announcements demonstrate our continued commitment to investing in innovative content that inspires and amuses viewers worldwide.”
The trend started on Tuesday when the query “Is Cartoon Network dead?” was posted alongside a montage video released by Animation Workers Ignited, a nonprofit that supports animation professionals. The widely viewed film brought to light the challenges facing the animation industry, including mass layoffs. It asked viewers to tweet about their fave Cartoon Network shows in order to assist the animation industry.

In the video, two cartoon characters discussed the gloomy state of the animation industry. “Whoa! This is how cartoons got their start! Not any longer—Cartoon Network is practically nonexistent! And other major animation studios are doing the same,” someone shouted. The movie continued by describing the number of animators who lost their employment despite their critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of animation production during the pandemic due to the technology’s remote operation capabilities.
Cartoon Network’s Commitment And Challenges
This statement demonstrates Cartoon Network’s ongoing dedication to producing excellent animated entertainment and dispels baseless allegations. As it grows, the network is dedicated to producing interesting material that appeals to a global audience.
The movie made the argument that animation was one of the only forms of entertainment whose production could go on unabatedly despite the pandemic. Still, studios choose to reimburse staff by putting projects on hold, outsourcing work, and letting go of many artists.
The cartoon characters urged viewers to share their fave Cartoon Network episodes on social media with the hashtag #RIPCartoonNetwork in order to help The Animation Guild (TAG). In order to learn more about methods to help, they also urged fans to follow the account.
