Social media users found the clip hilarious, speculating it might be from Pakistan. Some tagged their friends, joking about replicating such entries at their own weddings. Another comment humorously referred to it as ‘Digital Pakistan.’

Highlighting the significance of donkeys in Pakistan, groom Azlan presented his bride Warisha with a donkey at their 2022 wedding. Warisha’s admiration for these hard-working creatures led to the gesture, with plans to adopt the baby donkey. The video has amassed over 400,000 views.

According to the latest official data on livestock, Pakistan’s donkey population has risen by 1.72% to reach 5.9 million in the fiscal year 2023-24. Released on June 12, the Pakistan Economic Survey 2023-24, highlighting the country’s economic milestones, reported a steady increase in donkey numbers.

The data indicates that the population of Beasts of Burden increased from 5.5 million in 2019-2020 to 5.9 million in 2023-24, with intermediate figures of 5.6 million, 5.7 million, and 5.8 million in subsequent years. In contrast, horses and mules, closely related to donkeys, saw no change over the past five years, remaining at 0.4 million and 0.2 million, respectively.
