Hugging someone not only gives happiness, but also brings physical and mental benefits in many ways. The first benefit of a hug is stress relief. If someone is under stress, and he gets a hug he can mentally experience a sense of relaxation and relief. Studies show that hugging someone can relieve them of their stress. Hugging someone is one of the best ways to give mental comfort to someone.

Hugging reduces stress. It protects against diseases. In one research, more than 400 adults were studied. In which it was found that hugging can reduce the chances of a person getting sick.

Hugs keep your heart healthy

It was found in a study that hugs keep your heart healthy.  The scientists who were conducting the study included 200 people. These people were divide into two groups. The first group had romantic partners who were asked to hold each other hands for 10 minutes and then hug each other for 20 seconds.
Meanwhile, the second group was made to sit in silence for 10 minutes. It was then concluded that the people in the first group had reduced levels of blood pressure and heart rate. As per these findings, it was concluded that people with an affectionate relationship may be good for the health of your heart.

Hugs reduce fear

Scientists have found that touching or hugging can reduce anxiety in vulnerable people. They become free from any kind of fear. Even if you hug and touch an inanimate object, it helps in reducing fear. It was seen in the research that even after holding the teddy bear, people overcame their fear.

Hug gives happiness

Hug makes you feel happy. When you hug, the level of oxytocin chemical called “cuddle hormone” increases in the body. Because of which there is a feeling of happiness and relief from stress.

hugs or touches relieve the pain. A research was done regarding this. Six treatments were given to people with fibromyalgia. Each treatment involved a gentle touch to the skin. The study found that participants reported an improved quality of life and less pain. Hugging is another form of touch that can help reduce pain.

The things which can not be conveyed through words can be easily communicated through hugs. You can share your feeling with him by touch. Touch can tell every color of your sorrow, happiness, feeling to the people in front of you.

How many times should one hug in a day?

Health experts and others say that one should hug loved ones at least four times a day. Even if the time of hugging is short, but it has a positive effect on your body and mind.
