A Delhi-based woman took to LinkedIn to share her terrifying ordeal with OLA Cab during a ride to Gurugram on December 20. The incident which occurred outside the National Media Centre on a deserted road around 1.30 pm raises serious questions regarding women’s safety while using cab services.
The chilling ordeal began after the driver inexplicably slowed down the cab and didn’t respond to the victim’s objection. According to her, two men ahead of the cab indicated the driver to pull over to the left. She wrote, “Shockingly, the driver complied, parking the car as per their instructions. I questioned the driver about why he was obeying strangers, but he ignored me.”
To the passenger’s shock, moments later, two more men who were on bikes joined the scene. Adding to the tension, the driver remarked, “Meri kist pending hai (my installment is due).” Thereafter, the terrified woman insisted to continue the trip stating his “personal matters were not her concern.”

As the men stepped towards the cab, the passenger immediately opened the right-side door and ran for her life. She wrote, “It was an extremely traumatic experience, and I cannot emphasize enough how terrified I felt.”
Additionally, she opened up about using the SOS button on the Ola app, which did not work at the moment. She also shared raising a complaint with Ola (Ticket #7210244), but to her dismay ‘it has now been over 24 hours,’ she didn’t received any response. She expressed, “This lack of accountability and urgency from Ola’s team is both shocking and deeply disappointing. Passenger safety is not just a feature—it’s a fundamental responsibility.”
She further urged the CEO of OLA Cabs Bhavish Aggarwal to respond to this issue and take strict action against the driver to ensure passenger safety.
