Guns, nude models, marijuana: Screenshots of flipkart’s ‘objectionable’ ads go viral

The advertisement shows a gun that appears real, but when a person clicked on it, it opened as a toy gun.

There is an allegation against Walmart-owned e-commerce company Flipkart for running an “objectionable” advertisement. A few screenshots went viral on social media.

According to Aaj Tak.com, several users on Reddit are posting pictures of ad campaigns showing nude photographs of models carrying marijuana, guns, and mannequins.

For example, the advertisement shows a gun that appears real, but when a person clicked on it, it opened as a toy gun. As we know, real guns cannot be purchased through e-commerce websites.

Similarly, the photo of marijuana opens into dry flowers, and nude photos open into other products. Such screenshots were shared by users on Reddit.

A few users wrote that such advertisements can appear to those who use particular keywords. But the truth is that some users can post such screenshots even if they have not signed up.

Earlier too, a few users complained against Flipkart for running “objectionable” advertisements. But the silence from Flipkart shows that the company deliberately does not want to comment on clickbait ads.
