An IRS officer has criticized the coaching institute FIITJEE for its advertisement which claimed that the performance of a girl student declined after she left the institute and joined another.

The advertisement by FIITJEE, placed on the front page of a newspaper, said that the ex-student could have secured a “100 NTA score in JEE-Mains 2024 and not 99.99” if she remained with them and not shifted to an “EVIL Institute from Kota (now in Delhi) with a history of suicides”.

IRS officer Katyayani Sanjay Bhatia tagged Fiitjee in a post where she shared the picture of the ad, expressing her dismay. She criticized Fiitjee for suggesting that a student’s performance declined because she left their institute, calling it “a new low in advertisements.” Bhatia slammed Fiitjee, labeling their actions as “disgusting” and accused the coaching institute of trying to claim superiority by demeaning a girl child.

Bhatia further criticized FIITJEE for “claiming superiority by talking about the institute with a ‘history of suicides’,” deeming it “shameful.” She labeled FIITJEE’s use of such terms as a “cheap” tactic, particularly given the sensitive issue of suicides in Kota. Additionally, she highlighted the hypocrisy of FIITJEE’s advertising approach, stating that while there is often discussion about parents pressuring children for IIT JEE, FIITJEE’s advertisement shamed a student for not performing.

Bhatia criticized FIITJEE for claiming superiority by referring to another institute with a history of suicides, labeling it as “shameful.” She highlighted the insensitivity of FIITJEE’s tactic, particularly in light of the significant issue of suicides in Kota, which she stated concerns everyone.
