New Delhi: Contraceptive methods are used to avoid pregnancy while making a sexual relationship. Now-a-days contraceptive devices are used both by males and females. There are many advertisements that make people aware of these methods to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Let us figure out what is the difference between the two and which one is better. Moreover, which method is more helpful in birth control.

Difference between male and female condoms

Male condoms are made of latex, polyurethane, and polyisoprene. It comes in many flavors and sizes. On the other hand, female condoms are made of polyurethane or nitrile, which protect the vagina of women.

How does female condoms work

The female condom is like a pouch with one end at the other. One end of this pouch is closed and the other end is open. Both of these are fitted with two thick rings, which women can use to easily insert and remove it. It comes in limited designs and flavors.

The female condom covers the private part of a woman. At the same time, men’s condoms are made of latex, which also increases the risk of allergies. But this does not happen with the female condom, so experts believe that the female condom is more beneficial to keep the vagina safe.

Things to keep in mind while using a female condom

  • Whenever you have sex, use a female (internal) condom from beginning to end.
  • Make sure to read the instructions on how to insert the condom and check its expiry date.
  • Make sure there are no holes or cuts in it.
  • Use Vaginal Lubricants to help keep the condom from slipping and tearing.
  • Store condoms in a cool, dry place.

Remember this while using a female condom

While holding on to the closed end of the condom, insert it into the vagina by pressing the sides of the inner ring with your thumb and forefinger. It is similar to inserting a tampon.
