A prisoner in Madrid, Spain, who spent 14 years behind bars and made multiple failed escape attempts, left a surprising Google review of the jail after his release. Jose Perez, who served his sentence for 14 years, described his experiences in a 2-star review that has since gone viral.

Perez noted that escaping from the jail was extremely difficult, recounting an incident where a guard’s son caught and severely beat him while he was attempting to climb the wall. Despite the availability of drugs and the rarity of violent incidents like rape, Perez rated the jail poorly due to the high risk involved in escaping, which required scaling a 3-meter wall.

In his Google review, Perez wrote, ‘After 14 years, I got out of this prison. I tried to escape four times with Johnny el Mazas. I remember the last time we were caught climbing the wall, the guard’s son caught us and beat us severely. We couldn’t sleep all night.’
