New York: Protecting our environment is becoming more and more important, and recycling is a key way to do so. Instead of throwing away old devices that may contain harmful materials, we can recycle them. This not only keeps these toxins out of landfills but also allows us to save precious natural resources by using recycled materials like steel and aluminum in new products.
A viral video from New York shows a clever grandmother using her old microwave as a mailbox. Yes, you read that right! According to reports, the video was originally shared on TikTok. Meanwhile, the same clip has gone viral on Instagram. ‘POV [point of view]: You’ve arrived in Queens and see your grandmother’s mailbox,’ the video’s caption read.

In the video, we can see the grandmother’s creative storage solution – she puts the microwave oven on the porch and writes the postman’s instructions on it. The word ‘mailbox’ is written on the top of the microwave, and another sticker is located on the lower right corner of its door.
A voice in the viral video asks, ‘Grandma, what’s that?’ when grandma opens the empty microwave. Grandma leaves after closing the microwave oven door with hysterical laughter.
The video, shared on June 2, has garnered more than 4.3 million views. Social media users flocked to the comments section to praise the fun and ingenuity.
One user commented ‘Mailcrowave, and another user, appalled by the idea, wrote: ‘The definition of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ ?’
